Week 3 - Freebie Friday #9

For this week's freebie, I (Emily) went with something pretty relevant to my own life at the moment - "back to school" themed filler cards for Project Life! I designed them with a variety of phrases so that they'll be useful whether you're a parent sending a kid back to school or off to college, or a student yourself.

I'd love to see if you use these! They're pretty simple, so there's a lot of room for customization. (Oh, and if you're wondering, the font used in these is called Type Me Two and can be downloaded here on DaFont.com.)

Week 1- Freebie Friday #8

We offer free downloads every other Friday, which you can find here

Today's freebie is by Katie. I had the idea to design digital "flair" the other day. I'd never done it, but after a bit of researching and experimenting I created some! You could use these digitally or print them and cut them out.

Also, if you use these or any of our other freebies on a project, we would l-o-v-e to see it.

Week 3 - Freebie Friday #7

We offer free downloads every other Friday, which you can find here.

Today's freebie is by Emily.
We've been doing a lot of templates and worksheets here lately, but I just find things like these so useful on the less crafty side of scrapbooking! Last week, I found myself wishing I had a chart I could write each completed layout on, so that I could keep track of what I finished and whether or not I had blogged about each one. I thought that might be useful for our readers, too!

Week 1- Freebie Friday #6

We offer free downloads every other Friday, which you can find here.

Today's freebie is designed by Katie:
A couple of weeks ago I shared a free download for Layout Sketch Templates. Today I decided to create a similar template only for cards.

I made one with horizontal templates and one with vertical. (I didn't do any square cards, but you could always use the 12"x12" layout template for those if you wanted.)

Here's a peek at my card sketches so far:

Week 1 - Freebie Friday #5: Sketch Templates

We offer free downloads every other Friday, which you can find here.

Today's freebie is designed by Katie:
I like to sketch out my layouts before I start them. It helps me choose a design, and decide what colors before I make a big mess. I designed these templates with spaces for sketching your layouts and a place to add notes.
I designed 3 sheets- One with all 12x12 layouts, one with all 8.5x11 layouts and one with half and half.

I printed out a couple sheets of the 12x12 as well as the half and half templates. I don't do 8.5x11 layouts very often, but at least this way I can sketch them if I feel like it.

Freebie Friday #4: Summertime Journaling Tags

We offer free downloads every other Friday, which you can find here.

Today's download is by Emily:
I had this page of watercolored background that I had been experimenting with techniques on that I thought would be perfect for a set of journaling cards to celebrate the beginning of the summer!

I used all four cards on this digital Project Life page! I don't normally do Project Life, but I had a bunch of photos from the last few weeks that I thought it would be fun to document in this style. I went with digital so that I wouldn't have to wait for the printed photos.

Katie also used one of the cards in the digital layout she did for Sketch Challenge #2!

Freebie Friday #3: Chalkboard Journal Tags

We offer free downloads every other Friday, which you can find here.

Today's download is by Katie:
I love using journal tags in my projects. You can use them as a place for a sentiment on cards, in project life or just stick them on a layout. Chalkboard textures are also super popular right now so I thought "Why not combine the two?"

I used the "LOVE" tag on my layout for the Mother's Day Photo/Journal Prompt. I added a bit of doodling because that's more my style and I think it looks fantastic on my layout.

Freebie Friday #2: Organizing Your Washi Collection

Here at Paper Lovers Studio, we share a free printable for you to download every other Friday.

Today's download is by Emily:

I wanted to share something a little different, so instead of something you can use on a scrapbook page, I've made up something that will help you keep track of all the washi tape you own! Washi tape is extremely popular at the moment, and I have seen scrappers admitting to owning upwards of 100 rolls sometimes! Personally, I only have about 30, and it's still hard for me to remember what every roll looks like when I'm trying to decide if I want to add some to a page. So I designed a simple chart that will allow you to always have a small sample of each of your tapes at hand, without having to pull out every roll while you're working.

How Emily used the chart:
I keep my washi organized by brand, so I printed off three of the charts and filled in the "category" blank with the three brands of tape I own. Then I just stuck down small samples of my tapes into the boxes on the chart and added a few written details (width, color, pattern, if I had multiple rolls, etc). I store my charts in page protectors at the back of my current album.

I think it could also be very useful to print these charts out on transparencies, if you're able to. That way you can actually hold the sheet up to your layout and see how each tape might look on your page!

How Katie used the chart: I loved Emily's idea to sort them by brand but I really don't have enough washi tape to sort mine like that. So, I decided to sort mine by color and wrote in what brand each tape was next to it. I split my washi tape into 2 color schemes- Blues/Greens and Pinks/Reds. This works best for me, I think.

Freebie Friday! Watercolor Journaling Tags

Twice a month on Paper Lovers Studio, We will post Freebie Fridays! Freebie Fridays will include free downloads that we have designed for you to use in whatever projects you like!

Today's download is by Katie:

I love the texture of watercolors so I wanted these tags to have that. I also added what I think is my "signature style" which is doodling. I usually doodle with a black pen or marker, but I decided to change things around and doodle with white. I think the white doodles look fantastic against the watercolor backgrounds.

Katie's Layout:
I had a hard time choosing which one of the three tags to use on this layout because they all matched my paper beautifully! I finally decided on the noteworthy tag, I liked the yellow-y green colors.
